EMG Scanning: Dr. Debra Burns
Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostics procedure that assesses the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them. An EMG device uses technology called electrodes to transmit or detect electric signals. The results of EMG can reveal muscle dysfunction, nerve dysfunction or problems related to the nerve-to-muscle signal transmission.
Common Conditions Associate with EMG
Dr. Debra Burns uses the MyoVision EMG Scanner to help diagnose or rule out a number of conditions. She may conduct an EMG if you are showing any of the following signs or symptoms:
- Muscle Weakness
- Muscle Pain or Cramping
- Certain Types of Limb Pain
Results of EMG
The results of an EMG are discussed between the patient and Dr. Burns. Dependent upon the results, Dr. Burns may recommend specific types of therapy that are best suited to treat the specific injury or disease. The EMG is a powerful tool and helps to find the best therapy options available to treat the patient or condition.
During the last year Dr. Burns and her staff have given my wife her life back. My wife has had chronic back pain for years. Through the care of the staff at Advanced Back and Wellness my wife has had more good days then bad. The care they provide is top notch and the bedside manner could not be better. When my wife recently had an issue and needed to get an adjustment. Afterwards Dr. Burns followed up with her on a Saturday. She didn’t staff it out she actually called. Dr. Burns takes her patients wellness seriously and is there for them. It is tough to find people that are that caring in today’s medical field.
